5 containers laden with Drugs, Medical Equipment and Consumables have been delivered to Kebbi state by Project C.U.R.E, a USA based NGO. The beneficiary hospitals are Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, Birnin Kebbi, as well as General hospital Argungu, Zuru and Yauri.

​Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu witnessed the off loading of the container bearing the medical items at the both Birnin Kebbi and Argungu last week. His Excellency commended Project C.U.R.E for ensuring the items were delivered to the state as promised and improving state of the hospitals. All the contents have been donated whilst the state government bore cost of transportation and logistics. Some contents include
Operating tables, Ultrasound machines, Dental Chairs, Surgical Instruments, etc.

​Governor Bagudu said government would commence the much expected and needed rehabilitation and modernization of General Hospitals by July 2017. He said the work would be done in stages. He also charged the Doctors, nurses and all hospital workers to safeguard the equipment and other government property. 
The Chief Medical Director, Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, Dr. Ja’afar Muhammad Augie said the hospital was delighted to receive the items and it would help Doctors perform tasks that have been lacking due to lack of standard equipment. He announced Housemanship training for Doctors and Pharmacists will commence this year in SYM. 
In Argungu, Dr Emmanuel Ehiem the P M O Argungu General Hospital expressed similar sentiments.

In each of the beneficiary local governments, the state government has set up a 5 man committees consisting of the traditional head, religious leader, Ministry of Health staff, Local government staff and community representative to ensure the items are distributed according to need and also maintained properly.
